Coaching for unpaid mental health carers
Are you someone who…
…… supports a close friend or relative with a severe and enduring mental health condition?
Are you committed to nurturing their mental health but find it difficult to find time to work out what you need to be at your best?
Do you feel you lurch from crisis to crisis and that you just want time to reflect on what is going on and work out where best to put your energy?
I am a positive psychology and resilience coach with direct experience of caring for a family member with significant mental health problems.
I can give you the time and the space to not just off load the emotional burden you are carrying but to reflect and devise ways to maintain your own mental wellbeing so that you can be at your best while rising to the challenges you face.
I have conducted original research into resilience and post traumatic growth among families coping with a relative’s mental illness and have met some amazing people with compelling stories of resilience and flourishing in hard times. What I have learnt from them inspires my work.
I have a master’s degree in positive psychology and coaching psychology, and I have trained with top resilience specialist Chris Johnstone. I have built up a repertoire of great tools and approaches based on the latest science available, which really work. I can help you steer a route through the quagmire of caring so that you can focus on what most supports your own wellbeing.
I am a registered social worker and coach and train social workers to be the best version of themselves while managing the emotional demands of the job.
